Spring Season Board: Cabbage White

And our final thing for spring is the Cabbage White Butterfly! While there is still plenty of stuff out there to learn about, our board is now full ;). While the butterfly is mainly, well, white, we still had fun gluing tissue paper on the wings.

Coloring page!

There are minor differences between males and females with this drawing being of a female since there are slightly more spots. Once the tissue paper dried, we used a marker to highlight the spots.

We have had so much fun doing this project and the girls have learned a lot about the flora and fauna in the yard. It’s been interesting watching them interact with things more once the girls learned what it is called. Fleabane was once ignored, now it is picked every time we go out. They excitedly point out the birds they know. Just shows the power of names and what simply knowing what something is called can have. We’ll definitely do this project again in the summer!
