“Stained Glass” Butterflies

We love our "stained glass" crafts and made butterflies most recently. You'll need: scissors, tissue paper, clear contact paper, construction paper, tape, and a blank piece of paper. Here's how we did it:

Step 1: Draw the shape of your choice onto a blank sheet of paper. Cut it out.

Step 2: Trace the shape onto construction paper and cut it out.

Step 3: Cut the clear contact paper until it is slightly larger than the shape. Peel off the back and tape down so it is sticky side up.

Step 4: Cut up or rip up different colors of tissue paper.

Step 5: Stick!

Step 6: Display!

I've used this method for several different shapes and really like the look over using packing tape. The girls also really like making them, which is the best part 😊
