Summer Season Board: Dragonfly

There's a large pond nearby that drains into a creek that runs along our backyard, so we always get to see tons of different species of dragonflies. They come in so many different shapes in sizes! It was hard to pick the species that I wanted to draw.

I decided to model my coloring page/craft page after an Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis) since they have stockier bodies that I thought would be easier for toddlers/young kids to color.

Fun fact: Male pondhawks are blue while females are green! So I had Claire color hers blue and Nora color hers green. I cut out Nora's wings, but Claire cut out her own.
