Maple Seed Flowers

It's that time of year and our *everything* is covered in maple seeds! Instead of sweeping them all away, I thought we could do a fun craft with them and this is what I came up with - Maple seed flowers! Claire said she had fun making them (painting specifically), so they are toddler approved. Making them is definitely a two step process, however, since there needs to be time for the glue to dry. We did Step 1 before nap time/lunch and Step 2 afterwards.

Step 1: Put a large dot of glue on paper. Arrange maple seeds in the glue to look like a flower (seeds towards the middle). Add more glue to the middle for extra security. Allow to dry.

Step 2: Paint with colors of choice! We like to use Q-tips for paintbrushes.

Step 3: The most important step - display!

This craft was a fun little break from the norm and definitely a good use of all those maple seeds covering everything.
