Instead of fall specific birds, I decided to focus on some uncommon (in our yard) year round birds to round out what we learn about. So first up is the Carolina Chickadee (Poecile carolinensis)! These birds are so cute and we hear them all the time, but they hide so well it's hard to spot them.

Dying feathers with vinegar and food coloring has been working really well and the girls love making their little birds. I love when we're out and about and they correctly (and excitedly) point out a bird we have learned about 🥰
